Yet another good army that no one has cared to ask anything about or make fun of.
What was old one eye's name before he lost his eye?
Is the hive really a tyrany?
If not, is it a communism or republic or sometin of the like?
Do Space Marines shine maginfiing glasses over them in their free time when the sun(s) is out to make them burn?

Do Nids hiccup?
Sam have you ever seen Starship Troopers, the dudes pushed a bug into a cage and just shot it for giggles.
Old One's name was Melvin, he went through a really awkward phase.
I highly doubt a hive is a republic, I mean can you imagine a bi partisan hive!? Republicans and Democrats are bad enough, what if a lictor was representitive to the G.O.P.?

Correction Ben, he did not put the bug in the cage just to shoot it for giggles. It was to prove a point to the soldiers that shooting it in the leg doesn't do the trick. They need to aim for the nerve cluster on its head to be fully effective.

Yep!
He's right Ben.
"Congratulations son, the Mobile Infantry made me what I am today!"
(As he rolls out from behind his desk in a wheel-chair to show that he is missing both legs and half an arm...Sheesh)

Well I know that, but its less funny.
Besides before that they had to do it to learn, and I am sure they had giggles then too.

I'm sorry but the only nid army I've seen with flavor was Marks army and that is awesome. Besides the starship troopers bugs are much harder to kill than the nid bugs. The Nids have to call in reinforcements rom another galaxy but the ST bugs just need to pop open a few eggs and they' re already here (they like to throw rocks)

Well there is a lot of stuff that resembles the Nids. Like the Zerg from Starcraft.

Ok there is a simple order in which all of this came. Zerg came from gaunts, which came from Aliens, which came from something else. Everything you ever see in a GW game is a ripoff of something else.

Well everything comes from something. It is not neccissarily a rip off.

hold on, i know how i can end this right now. b3cause i KNOW exactly where the whol "gaunts/zerg/aliens/starshiptroopers/bugs" arch type came from. And since you are all such good little children, i am going to tell you.
It all began around 345 bc. at the forming of the russian nation, one day, a stray russian child saw the very first genus of a chupacabra (yesi know those are from southamerica, but they also are indiginous to eurasia under the name of "kalschprocket", needless to say, this is the first time they had ever saw one) so, the child ran back screaming to his little village and told his poopaw what had happend.
his poopaw quickly dismissed the allegation and went on his buisness, but he eventually told the story to all the other poopeye in the village (poopeye is the plural for poopaw, duh) . So, they invented a mythical creature called a :"zargt", this creature was believed to look like a large gargle ant of monstrous size with huge claws who came from a distant planet to devour all the bad children, and they told this story to all the little youngins of the village,
So, the youngins grew up and went to other villages and became poopeye themselves, where they told the legend of the "zargets" to their own disobediant children (the name later gradually merged into the word "target" which was used by the british troops in the revolutionary war as a derogatory term for the yanks) So naturally tales such as these move across continets, examples include, ghosts, bigfoot, and dinosaurs. Eventually theauthor of the starship troopers series decided it was high time to capitalize on the tale ( i believe robert heinlien was his name?) He introduced the idea of multiple "zargts" of different species wiping out the human race. except he spurred the term into the american diallect which made them here, and forever after "bugs".
So the craze caught on and everyone seemed to be getting a piece of the pie, the producers of aliens, games workshop, blizzard entertainment. and the rest is history.
So my friends i believe the morl is obvious here.
Respect your chupacabra
Because without them, we wouldnt have the zerg, the nids, the bugs, as well as many other wondrous items (toothbrush, but thats another tale) and so my friends i bid you adue and sleep well, and remember, the kalschprocket watches.
