If you have been in the shop recently you noticed that there are several boards in the back that are new, and 4X4! These boards are for practicing your combat patrol lists, they will be used in the tournament. So get in there and practice.
500 pts No armour above 33 No characters with more than 2 wounds No Ordinance No 2+ saves No special characters

Sorry I am a new player for the most part so I have some questions on the rules for the combat patrol:
1. What happens if my only HQ choice is above the 3 wounds rule?
2. If it doesn’t conform what can I do, as a player with limited resources? (this one is not really a question on the game but a what to try)

I forgot to mention, you don't need to bring an HQ. You also, only need one troop. I am an Eldar play, and all my HQs are three wounds so I can't bring them. Instead I am going to bring rangers and scorpions, and use my Exarch as my commander for any purposes. What army are you playing?

Well it does fit the fluff. Would you send the sigle best guys you have to do a patrol? No. You would have him take command in the BIG battles and kick some serious butt when he had a real opportunity and a garuntee on combat.

Another couple quick questions:
1. Would taking Necron Scarabs Be acceptable. They are 3 wounds but it would make sense to send them on a patrol (when their numbers blot out the sun you don’t care if you lose a few)?
2. Even if they aren’t allowed as in my starting army, is it still possible to build them with a tomb spider?

I am looking to get a combat patrol game in for practice, anyone out there is up for a game against guard. Challenges from Ben are not accepted (sorry, I'm saving it for game day).

To answer your quest SPLIR, the rulebook makes it really clear that under no circumstance are you allowed to have 3 wound models.
"...simply leave out the offending character and don't pay points for him." I would say no you can't bring the tomb spiders. The book uses a Kroot Merc squad as an example, and ends with, "In this case, don't count the Shaper as compulsory and go ahead and take the unit without him."
Weather or not it fits the fluff, you can't bring them, GW has done many a thing that doesn't fit its own fluff when it comes to the rules. Size of an Avatar, strength of a Marine, armour of a Dwarf, the list goes on and on...

How come you have two stars and i only have one? Little hint, no mechanized doctrine for me. If I did that, all I would have is half a troop choice, and that is not a legal army.

How come you have two stars and i only have one? He has over 50 posts which makes him a "trooper" and gives him two stars.

(otherwise it fits the rules fine) i was just wondering how that would work. The scarabs themself dont start in my army, they are created durring play as an action.

Yeah I don't think they would be able to come into the game, otherwise I could summon a greater daemon onto the battlefield.
