Ok so there has to be one other Necron player out there. I enjoy the facelessness of the necrons, their power is mighty but they are the peices of a machine. As a computer programer the look and feel of a necron army just makes me happy. plus everybody loves a giant undead army to fight with.

I would palay necrons but I don't want people to hate me anymore because popularity to me. In fact if I wasn't popular I would die as popularity is what feeds me. I think I need to go on a diet actually. I really only have two beefs with the necron army list besides that they are a fine army. More power to you for playing such a fine army. For a while I actually thought about palying that particularly fine army. I view it as the black templars of shooting. Ld 10 with a 3+ save and a 4+ get back up so they sould only break from hand to hand and they actually 'technically' have a 2+ save they are very burly. And only 18 pts a piece. With some very powerful h-to-h units and charachters there's nothing wrong with that army

I am sorry, but Necrons are just too dirty. 3+ save, and a posibilty of a 4+ We'll be back roll or with a resurection orb. Don't get me started on the indestrutible floating pryamid of doom. Necrons, dirty (not because the lived in the ground forever).

i don't know, i mean sure Necrons have the potential to be dirty but it just depends how your fighting and how your oppenet is fighting. Sure the Momolith is a beast but really the necrons have somepretty big weaknesses, first off you kill one, thats three gaurdsmen, three! second you kill enuf, they all go poorf. I think its just cause the momolith sucks up so much fire that people call its dirty. heck i played em' the other day and i did just fine.

Also some people say that Necrons arn't very good in close combat, well....they are space marines with I 2 in close combat that can revive themselves. That's pretty good in my book...

All you really have to do to get rid of them is focus everything on the warriors. If they all go then that probably means that the army goes poof. sure the monolith is a big mean bullet sponge but whether or not you like it you just gotta learn to ignore it unless it is absolutely imperative that you kill it, then you gotta do what you gotta do. I used to lose to Steve-O all the time because that dang thing would soak up all my fire. In summary, Power weapon the footsloggers and ignore the E-Z bake oven

One way of takin' down necrons is if you have a decent close combat army (marines, orks, possibly eldar) is to equip the champions in your close combat units with power weapons. A marine champion guy in a tactical squad with bolt pistol and power weapon gets 3 attacks (4 on the charge). Your bound to dust at least one warrior even with the worst luck. Now that isn't bad considering they can't come back. Also power weapons cost a champion anywhere from only 10-15 pts (depending on the army).

one time Nate said to me And it is really specific, im pretty sure it says that you dont get we well be back roll against doubleing out weapons or close combatweapons that dont allow a save but not shooting weapons with an ap of 2 or less that doesnt double out, or somethine like that

I think a Necron "horde" (as horde as you could get at least) in the Combat Patrol Tournament would own!

yeah I got third with necrons which suprised me since everyone was telling me I was going to phase out so fast yet I never did. My list was also last minute I made around 3 then picked one.
11 warriors, 4 destroyers and 2 tomb spiders 1 wit particle projector.
I think it was the destroyers that helped the most able to move and fire 3 shots each was pretty cool.
